Glen speaking on Maven at Canberra JUG, Aug 12, 2009
Last Changed by Glen Smith, Aug 09, 2009 08:30
This week I'm off to the Canberra Java User Group to give people a quick over view of Maven technology (6PM, Wednesday, August 12 – see the CJUG site for venue details). It's going to be pretty condensed, but enough interesting demos to give you a feel for what all the fuss is about.
Topics I'll be covering include:
- Comparison with Ant
- Convention over configuration stuff
- Dependencies and Repos
- POMs, Plugins and the Build lifecycle
- Site Generation and Reporting
- IDE Support
- Tons of hands-on live demos
It's going to be a fun night, and if you enjoy the night, you can sign up for Maven Quickstart and get a whole day of deep-dive training to get you up to speed and productive.
Should be a fun night. See you there for Pizza and build tools!
